Project: Carbon binary systems under high temperature-pressure conditions
Christian Childs is a graduate student in Prof. Salamat’s group having started in August 2015, after receiving his B.S. degree in Physics in spring 2015. His main body of research is to utilize high temperature laser heating techniques in the diamond anvil cell to allow the full exploration of the energy landscape and to access unique pathways to novel systems. His current work focuses on carbon related systems and carbon nitrides, exploring metastability in amorphous and chemical precursors as a route to novel states.
